Name one book you loved as a kid - one you loved as a new adult - and one you love now.
- I loved the Series of Unfortunate Events books as a kid
- Anything Jodi Picoult as a new adult
- Now give me all the murdery vibe books like You or any Stephen King.
Is there an author you look up to? Or had an influence on your craft?
- I'd say Jodi Picoult.
- She is FABULOUS at adding twists in and laying little breadcrumbs along the way. I try to channel that in my writing because I love a good twist (though the one in this book might be fairly obvious since its for younger audiences!)
How would you describe your craft in one sentence
My craft is Spontaneous- I write when inspiration comes to me and don't try to force anything!
At The Dreamer's Bookshop, we embrace diversity and advocate for invisible illnesses. How do you feel about those topics? Do you include messages in your writing?
I'm an advocate for all, being a registered Sign Language Interpreter, I have a bit of outsider perspective, but I don't really include any of that in my writing as they are not my first-hand experiences and therefore are not my stories to tell.
Do you have red lines when it comes to writing/reading?
I mean, I'm not a huge fan of any murder or violence towards infants or children (especially since becoming a mom). I wouldnt write anything too graphic or violent around kids, but if it happens to be in a book and works with the story, I won't stop reading because of it. It might be uncomfortable, but I'd read through it.
Was there a review that touched you more than others?
This is one of the best YA books I have read in a long time. It was one of those books that took you out of your world and into another.
The kind of book where you completely lose your surroundings.
As a fantasy lover for me I need to be able to picture the world, sense the magic and feel the magic in me. I need to be able to picture the characters and become them. And with this book I definitely did
This is nothing short of a masterpiece.
If someone asked you why you write, what would you answer in one sentence?
I write because I can, because stories will always be needed to heal, to learn, to grow, and I am fortunate enough to be able to create and share my work.
Which book are you most proud of and why?
The Talish Trilogy has been my longest worked on book, I absolutely love my characters and will miss them when I go. It has also been the books that have helped me hone my craft and learn as a writer. They have grown with me and alongside my progression.
What would you tell an aspiring writer?
Just get to it! Don't worry if things are messy at first. It takes months, sometimes years to review, edit and polish a book, but you can't get to that point if you never start!
What's a wish you have for yourself as an author?
Just for people to read and hopefully enjoy my books, maybe even losing themselves in the world and chatting about it to their friends and family!
What's a wish you have for yourself as a person?
To keep writing, keep growing and to spend as much time with my family as I can.

I just hope you enjoy my books as much as I enjoyed creating/writing them!
